I remember when I was young after coming back home from school, having a hearty bowl of beef stew with rice always made my stressful day into something just brighter. My grandma always told me that I should eat more beef because it will help me get stronger and grow faster. Well... that was not the case for me. I loved beef my whole childhood, I always had the mentality of growing as tall as Yao Ming if I consume beef. I remember eating it almost every other day which now remembering it causes me nausea. Well, end of story, I stopped growing when I started junior high school... and beef just become something I hated now days

Beef stew is one of those things that Ecuadorians loves to eat! it's packed with proteins and amino acids that will fill out a hard worker in a matter of minutes. Eating beef doesn't mean that you'll have to pay tons of money for those pricey cuts like aged rib eye, tenderloin, etc. Ecuadorians don't really have that money to fill the whole family from that. But they uses the cheapest cuts like chuck that are really hard to cook. Most of the times people will have to cook for more than two hours to get it tender. Which is doesn't sound efficient for me and I'll give some tips to cut that time and enjoy the meal as fast as it can gets!

Tenderizing beef is just a pain in the butt, cheap cuts really take time to cook and I can't wait for that. I manage to cut down the time into half by the following:

ADD WINE into your stew while cooking. And please, don't chose those expensive wines that will make your wallet tear, just use those cheap wines that are filled in a box, those are the cheapest and most efficient ones. Wine is a powerful tenderizer that will not only manage to soften your beef, but also add a fruity flavor to your beef. The acid in the wine will almost cut half hour of the cooking process. Remember! just pour the whole box into your beef stew, Who doesn't like a little extra of wine?

USE A PRESSURE COOKER. Ok... I know what you are thinking, isn't the pressure cooker dangerous? Please... we are living in 21 century, using a pressure cooking doesn't mean that you'll need to buy those old fashion grandma cookers that will probably explode while using it. Just go online and get an electric pressure cooker that I'll bet if you can use an iphone, then you'll probably know how to use an electric pressure cooker. This will probably safe your cooking time by an hour! Tempting, isn't it?

Now, just follow these two simple steps and you'll enjoy your beef stew in less than an hour. If it doesn't work, then you'll probably doing something wrong.
