Pasta, pasta pasta!

Pasta is one of those dishes that are truly easy to make and delicious to taste. Right here in State College aren't that many authentic Italian restaurants which really depresses me, and please don't mention me Olive Garden which is a shame to the pasta industry. I'm talking about real handmade pasta from starch which we all agree are the best one. There is a restaurant in Philadelphia called SERPICO which they are not focused on Italian dished but on creative kitchen. They can transform simple and luxurious ingredients into something magical. Once I ordered a foie gras stuffed ravioli with a asparagus herb sauce, and that was the best ravioli dish I've ever tasted in my life.

We all have to agree that college students love pasta, but there is only one problem. Most of them only knows how to make pasta with tomato sauce which is something miserable. Once I made that mistake by buying pasta and canned tomato sauce and mixing them, the results were horrific. I threw the whole plate into the garbage. (Sorry pasta~) I'll be giving some tips that will make your pasta dish incredibly delicious, and will amaze your friends and family by making it for them.

Olive oil makes everything delicious! Go get some good quality olive oil, add a generous splash of it when you are cooking it with the sauce. If there isn't a good bottle of olive oil in an Italian family, then they must not be Italian. Olive oil is one of those mysterious things that doesn't really make your dish oily, but it will add a earthy aroma into your dishes by moisturizing it. Pasta is one of those things that tends to dry very fast when you leave it our from the water. Next time remember add a good amount of olive oil instead of vegetable oil into your pasta, and your guest will probably say BRAVO!

Remember, always, ALWAYS add salt while cooking your pasta! There are those kind of inhuman beings that never adds seasoning while cooking their pasta, which I suggest executing them by an overdose of salt. Adding salt will not only flavor your pasta, but also will increase the boiling point of the water. This means that the temperature of the water will increase at the boiling point, which can allow the pasta cook in a higher temperature and the heat will evenly distributed. Well, that's some chemistry happening there isn't it?

Cheese will never betray you! Always buy some good quality cheese while buying your pasta, because there is nothing that can replace the naughty flavor that cheese offers. It will not only add a earthy flavor, but also it will act as a sauce while cooking your pasta. when you don't know what to put into your pasta, just remember that cheese is always pasta's best friend~
